Dutch language and culture

The Joos Florquin Dutch as a foreign language summer course 2013

Summer course 'Joos Florquin'

This intensive course is intended for those who wish to begin learning Dutch or improve their knowledge of the language.
There are 5 levels: Elementary, Intermediate A, Intermediate B, Advanced A, Advanced B.
The teaching language is Dutch. Passive knowledge of English and/or French is an advantage.

Prior knowledge will be tested on the first day. The results of the placement test will be communicated to the students on the following day.

Dates

Friday, August 2:

• 9 - 12 a.m.: Placement Test
  Intermediate and advanced level (levels 2 - 5)
• 2 - 4 p.m.:
  Guided tour of Leuven

Monday, August 5:
9 a.m.: First class

Friday, August 30:
End of the course

Time table

Monday	9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
	2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Tuesday	9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
	2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Wednesday	9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Thursday	9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Friday	no class.

Activities programme

All students take part in cultural activities together with their tutors.

• Guided tour of Leuven: Friday 2 August at 2 p.m.
• Workshops: Wednesday 7 August
• Pic nic: Thursday 8 August (weather permitting)
• Cultural event: Wednesday 14 August
• History and culture lecture: Wednesday 21 August
• Daytrip: Thursday 22 August
• ILT at the Movies: On Mondays (except August, 5)

Entry requirements

Applicants (minimum age 18) with a secondary school certificate or an equivalent certificate must submit a certified translation in Dutch (English/French/German) at registration.

• at the ILT office as of 29/04/2013

Registrations will only be valid upon receipt of payment.
Registrations will be confirmed in writing by post or e-mail.

Registration fee for all students: € 340 (the price of the coursebook is not included).

Important notice

Deadline for registration: July 10, 2013 or until classes are full.
There are no reduced fees for occasional absence, late arrival or early departure.

Cancellation

Cancellation is possible until July 10.
€ 34 will be charged for administrative costs.
After July 10 the registration fee will not be refunded.
