Target group and entry requirements
This course is aimed at students enrolling for a Master's programme at
KU Leuven who wish to upgrade their general English language skills.
A complementary course, Academic English for Master's students,
is offered for the same target group.
Aim and course content
The course focuses on oral skills: presenting, socialising, voicing opinions, etc.
- Objectives:
- increasing fluency and self-confidence
- improving pronunciation
- achieving grammatical accuracy
- achieving lexical accuracy
- getting acquainted with features of effective presentations
- Activities:
- wide range of speaking activities
- remedial grammar exercises (depending on students' needs)
- exercises on collocations
- practice of presentations to be prepared for other Masters programme courses
- other (depending on students' needs)

The course is offered during the summer before the start of the academic year:- Summer Course (CC1):
