Target group and entry requirements

This course is aimed at students enrolling for a Master's programme at KU Leuven who wish to upgrade their general English language skills. A complementary course, Academic English for Master's students, is offered for the same target group.

Aim and course content
The course focuses on oral skills: presenting, socialising, voicing opinions, etc.

  • Objectives:
    • increasing fluency and self-confidence
    • improving pronunciation
    • achieving grammatical accuracy
    • achieving lexical accuracy
    • getting acquainted with features of effective presentations
  • Activities:
    • wide range of speaking activities
    • remedial grammar exercises (depending on students' needs)
    • exercises on collocations
      • practice of presentations to be prepared for other Masters programme courses
    • other (depending on students' needs)
